A traditional cache placed on the South West Coastpath.
This cache is placed in Silvermine Valley. To get to this cache, there are a lot of steps. depending on the way you approach it, there are roughly 70 down (from Porthpean) or 168 ish steps down (from Blackhead/Trenarren direction).
This one will need care to be taken to get to the cache, as the area is muddy most of the year, and will get extremely muddy in the winter months. I definately recommend walking boots for this one. The steps down get muddy, so come and be prepared for this.
Please replace the cap on tightly, and seal the bag to help to keep it dry.
You will need to take a pen(cil) to sign the log. Photo logs won't be accepted unless there is an issue with the cache.
Sensible footwear recommended for walking along the SW Coastpath. Trainers/flip flops may not give enough grip, especially if the path is muddy. You will walk past open areas near cliffs to get to GZ, so remember to keep an eye on dogs/small children.
The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. There is a stats listing, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found, you can find it here: - https://www.littlebridgesseries.co.uk. If you would like to add to the series, please go to this site, on the tab Get Involved click number request and fill in the form. To qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.
