A couple of people reminded me that I was fast approaching a 'significant Geocaching number', and what was I going to do about it?
Climb a mountain? Swim to an Island? Do a multi-day hike? All of those sounded far too much like exercise to me, so I decided what better way to celebrate than to get together with a bunch of like-minded obsessives and swop stories? After all, many of you have shared my adventures at one time or another, and I'd like to thank you for all your help.
I've shifted to Ngaio Scout Hall as it's a much better venue, and people know where it is...
Everyone is welcome, whether you are just starting out, or have thousands of finds!
The official event will run from 12.30pm - 2pm.
Please don't turn up much before this unless you want to put out tables and chairs or do other jobs!
The Ngaio Scout Hall is a good facility for groups, with a well set up kitchen, but does not have Wi-fi - you'll need to use your own data
The access road to the Scout Hall is narrow, twisty, and there is very little parking immediately outside, so I'd like to keep this for anyone who needs to use the Disabled Access ramp or has other mobility issues. Use the Station Carparks! Or even better, use public transport!
I will provide Soup (Vegetarian and Gluten free), plus Tea, Coffee, and some baking if I get inspired. Please bring other nibbles if you would like to share. If you have any specific allergies, please bring something you can eat.
I will have a couple of puzzles to release on the day - at least one of which will benefit from 'Group Input'.
This event is planned under the COVID gatherings restrictions in place at 13 July 2021. If the alert level changes, I will update the cache page and put out an announcement as necessary. The Hall does have a QR code for you to scan in, and I'll use the 'event log' as a means of recording attendence and contact tracing if necessary.
