This is a HIGHLY SCIENTIFIC field puzzle; be prepared to learn a lot about the amazing electromagnetic spectrum of the rays coming from our Sun.
The sun emits a wide range of electromagnetic energy - from radiowaves (with very long wavelengths of longer than a millimeter) to gamma rays (with very short wavelengths less than 10-12 meters). In between this range, the sun also emits microwaves, infrared waves, visible light, UV light, and x-rays, just to name a few.
You will be given 9 objects representing something that falls on the electromagnetic energy spectrum of the sun in this field puzzle. Your job is to arrange them in order of LOWEST to HIGHEST wavelength. Once you have them in the correct order, select the middle three (the fourth, fifth, and sixth items). The numbers on these objects will give you the combination of the lock on the treasure (and the cache).
Sign the log. Feel free to take a prize as a token of your success in solving the puzzle. I will try to replace these as they are used up.
So, bring along your favorite science geek (or grade-schooler, maybe?) and solve this field puzzle. Please replace the puzzle as found so others can enjoy the experience.
