A Reverse Wherigo cache placed along the old Ulster Way which runs from Whitespots Country Park to Helen's Bay.

To start this adventure, first you will need to download the Reverse Wherigo Cartridge on to your smartphone or GPS, if compatible. An app will be required to find this cache. We use Wherigo for iPhone. We understand that other apps, such as WhereYouGo are available for android phones.

Reverse Wherigo Box.

This Wherigo allows you to search for the cache using only distance clues (no directions). The first Reverse Wherigo GC357G1 was created by Waldmeister. The basic idea is to find the final while being given only your distance to it. To get the current distance, you can ask the Reverse Cache Box in your inventory, but it won't tell you the direction - that's for you to figure out! There's no limit to how many times you can ask, but try to keep your number of guesses as low as possible. All instructions and necessary information needed to complete the cartridge are provided in the cartridge itself, which is multilingual.

When prompted you will have to type a three six-digit initiation code into your Wherigo player.

The Posted Co-ordinates

The posted co-ordinates will take you to the tree photographed above.  There are three lines of text on the tree (ignore the +).  Make the following observations to come up with numerical values for A-F (Checksum = 18).

A = Number of letters in the first word

B = Number of letters in the second word

C = 1st digit of year

D = 2nd digit of year

E = 3rd digit of year

F = 4th digit of year

Now replace the letters below to obtain the required three six-digit numbers.

The Final GZ

The final GZ is located a short walk from the posted co-ordinates. The container is a pre-form bottle with a RITR logbook and is placed high in a tree.  An amount of tree climbing along with a special long tool is required to reach it.  Please note the location of the container before retrieval and be sure to place it back exactly where found.
