Geocache Description:

This micro is located on the eastern side of the River Tawe, right beside a flat, tarmaced public footpath. This path also makes up part of the #43 cyclepath from Swansea Marina, which winds its way north for 31 miles.

The cache is located beside the 22nd post from the footbridge.

During the 18th and 19th centuries, it would have been surprising if any fish survived at all in the industrially polluted waters of the Tawe. There were just so many mines and works near the river. For instance, in the 1870s Ground Zero was the location of the river docking warehouse of the huge, Landore Steelworks, that covered the ground to the east.
To enable barges to navigate this far up the River Tawe, the bridge just downstream was a swing bridge that opened to allow vessels to pass.

There is on-road parking just across the river from the cache.

As with all of our caches, we ask that you don't spoil the surprise of what you find for future cachers. Please don't mention the unique aspect of the cache in your log, or upload a photo of it. But we really appreciate hearing about the rest of your visit and any other photos you may have taken.

The log is made with waterproof paper. It should remain signable even when wet. Please remove any plastic bags found in the cache.

Please do let us know with a "DNF" log if you couldn't find the cache. It lets both us and other cachers know that there may be a problem. And, please do let us know if the cache needs maintenance of any sort. We try to keep our caches maintained to a good standard.
