The latest instalment in a series of (almost*) annual events in which a load of insomniacs gather at the war memorial on Coombe Hill at midnight and eat their own body weight in cake.
* Except for last year. Obviously.

Welcome to Midnight Meet for Munchies at the Monument. For the uninitiated it's an opportunity to get out into the countryside and the fresh air and admire the view from this amazing vantage point. And eat cake. At night.
The event will run from 11:45pm on Saturday 28th August to 12:30am on Sunday 29th August 2021. Bring some cake to share, or savouries if you prefer, and an empty stomach, because we usually end up with cake mountain.
There are some other interesting caches in the local area for you to try if you haven't found them already, including the oldest geocache in England a short walk away.
There's uneven terrain on route to the monument, so stout footwear and a torch for every person are essential. It's also outdoors and there's nowhere to shelter if it rains so keep an eye on the forecast and dress appropriately. Remember that there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. Also keep in mind that the temperature drops during the night so a blanket to sit under would be a good idea, particularly for smaller cachers.
Above all bring lots of cake and nibbles!
