Hello and Welcome to Big Springs Park in McDonough, Georgia! This park has been around for many years, but has recently been remodeled to have sidewalks, a gazebo, decorative plants, bamboo, and a special needs-inclusive park across the street!
I picked this location due to the adorable and friendly turtles that love to swim up to you when you step on the boardwalk! As an owner of 3 amazing turtles myself (Polamalu, Bubbles, and Little Bubs), I would love for other people to see just how amazing they really are! If you take a walk around the paved path, you may also see some Canadian Geese, their babies, large-mouth bass, and other fish (there is no fishing allowed). If you come at night, you will hear Cicadas, Bullfrogs, American Toads, Fowlers Toads, and other Tree Frogs. You may even see a beaver swimming in the pond if you're lucky!
This cache should be easy to get to, as there are plenty of parking spaces in the 2 parking lots south of the park itself. There is also a public restroom and water fountains conveniently located in the parking lot. If you are in need of new reading material, there is a free book box located under the pavilion across from the fountain! It should be easy to spot, as there is a beautiful giraffe painted on its back! If you would like to take a book, it is preferred that you donate another book to put in its place for someone else to enjoy!
