What: The Rangers have initiated annual ragwort pulling in the Long Meadow. This has successfully limited its spread and reduced plant numbers. Although a habitat for insects, ragwort can quickly spread and is toxic to livestock. Join us to pull ragwort and get back on top of it in the meadow.
How: The Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and bin bags. Please bring your own gloves.
Health and Safety: The session and will be covered by council insurance as long as you are working under the Countryside Ranger's instruction. Please wear long sleeves and trousers as the sap can cause skin irritation.
Additional COVID measures: We ask you to bring your own gloves. Bin bags will be supplied but if you want to bring your own that is also fine. We are encouraging indivdiuals to work in their own groups and social distance where possible from any other groups. Unfortunatley this does mean that we won't be supplying our normal drinks and biscuits so please do bring along your own refreshments. We will still have a break mid-way where we can take a rest and catch up, but please do continue to maintain distance between individuals where appropriate.
