Artificial intelligence is intelligence demonstrated by machines, as opposed to natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals. The question looms, how far will AI develop? 

There are predictions of fully autonomous transport. Cars that can communicate with each other on the road, coordinating braking and removing traffic congestion all-together. There are thoughts of self-driving vehicles being a service, being able to rent when needed, rather than something individuals own in their garages. In countries like China, Russia and the USA there are already fleets of autonomous vehicles on the roads, including taxis. 

What started off as an offspring of Sci-Fi, AI is rapidly being integrated into our society. From virtual assistants we have come accustomed to like Siri and Alexa, facial recognition software on phones and laptops, and even aiding directions in Google Maps, artificial intelligence is already being used in everyday life. AI is also being researched and developed in industries like healthcare where it can assist surgeries and screenings for pathology. 

There is said to be an artificial intelligence that is able to formulate images from text, after being trained from an expansive database. It doesn’t just search for an image on the internet that matches the description, it creates it itself. It has a wide range of capabilities, including controlling the features of an object; colour, size, appearance, medium. It can also manage the perspective objects are visualised from; changing angles, viewing a cross section, or even reflections. It can be used for fashion and interior design, generating images of rooms based on a description of its contents, or outfits based on materials and patterns. Even more fascinating, the AI can also create abstract images, combining completely unrelated concepts into one image, like “a horse made of shells”, or even visualise a time period or geographic location based on the settings styles and technology. “A telephone made in the 1920s”. 

This artificial intelligence seems to be able to create images from any conceivable combination of concepts that it has been trained in, and it is even capable of visualising the key to solving this geocache.
