These are all meant to be quick grabs and fun for the whole family. They can be found in any order and the hints provided will literally give them away, so peek at your own risk. Most of all HAVE FUN!
A Little Bit About Lake Shore, MD:
Lake Shore is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, located east of Pasadena. Lake Shore is located on the Hog Neck peninsula near the Chesapeake Bay. It is partially bordered by tidal inlets to the bay, notably Magothy River to the south and Main Creek to the northeast. It is bordered by Pasadena to the west, with the boundary in the vicinity of Magothy Bridge Road. Maryland Route 177 (Mountain Road) is the main route through the community, running generally east-west along the center of the peninsula. According to the United States Census Bureau, Lake Shore has a total area of 17.6 square miles of which 13.4 square miles is land and 4.2 square miles, or 23.69%, is water, consisting of the tidal rivers on either side of Lake Shore (thanks Wikipedia).
Fun Fact: you can address mail to those who live in this area with either Lake Shore OR Pasadena, even though there is no official Lake Shore post office, they share the same zip code.
#8 - Rex Loves Rocks - Rex is a miniature dachshund who loves chewing on just about anything (including rocks!) so we named this after him. This micro cache is hidden at the old stone Schmidt structure. Swag and logbook inside, no pen.
About the structure: George Schmidt began selling fruits and vegetables in 1927 at what is now the intersection of Mountain Road and Route 100 in 1927, according to his son, Henry. In 1933, the elder Schmidt built a small stand at the site which is still there today, though it is no longer in use.
This GZ is across Mountain Road from the Pasadena Veterans Memorial - if you want to go check it out please be very careful crossing the road to visit the memorial. History: Samuel G. Kemp donated the Flag and Flag pole on Sunday, July 4, 1993. Mr. Kemp is a WW II Veteran and Pasadena will forever remember his contribution to this community.
