While traversing Barn Bluff Park today, I stumbled across this small area that I subsequently dubbed the Secret Picnic Spot. It's a small clearing just about large enough to have a picnic, with a great view of Red Wing to boot. The final approach is about 100-150 feet of light bushwhacking from the South Trail depending on your approach.
Retrieving the container may be somewhat challenging. It's not far from the clearing itself, but you will be on the edge of a steep drop. There's no need to repel downwards or anything of that sort, but you will need to watch your step. Use your own judgment (and common sense), especially in the winter or after recent rains. If coordinates seem off (likely, given the topography of GZ) just send me your reading and I will average them out. Good luck and be safe!
