The Park Facility Operator is the title given to a person who works in a front country BC Park, such as Crooked River Provincial Park. Often mistakenly called Park Rangers (those who operate the back country camping in BC Parks), PFOs manage all the day-to-day tasks of running the parks. This includes daily checks on the outhouses, etc. As the hike out to Square Lake is long enough, the PFOs have this back road they can drive to get supplies, etc. out to Square Lake. I had the privilege of taking this road one summer with a friend who was working in the campground. The road to the South comes out in the Park Facility Operator compound. The road to the East takes you to the highway, but you cannot park there so it is not all that interesting a road.
