Trinbrættet Margrethelund findes på Himmerlandsstien.
Himmerlandsstien er placeret på de tidligere ’Himmerlandsbaner’, som bestod af banen Hobro-Aalestrup-Aars-Løgstør og banen Viborg-Aalestrup, som begge blev indviet i 1893. Der blev etableret flere stationer og trinbræt på strækningen mellem Viborg og Aalestrup. Trinbrættet Margrethelund blev oprettet i 1929 og nedlagt i 1955 – fire år før persontrafikken ophørte på Himmerlandsbanen.
Persontrafikken blev indstillet på strækningen Viborg-Aalestrup i 1959, og på strækningen Hobro-Løgstør i 1966, men godstrafikken fortsatte frem til 1999.
I 2004-2005 blev sporet mellem Viborg og Løgstør taget op, og de daværende kommuner/amter var enige om at anlægge en cykel og gangsti på hele strækningen fra Viborg til Løgstør: Himmerlandsstien. I slutningen af 2013 blev de sidste 2 km af sporet taget op, så Himmerlandsstien kunne forlænges helt ind til Viborg Station.
Der er placeret informationstavler på Himmerlandsstien – på de steder, hvor der tidligere var trinbræt eller station.
Hvis du vil på en lang vandretur, så er Himmerlandsstien 79 km lang fra Viborg til Løgstør, men du kan også nøjes med mindre. Hvis du gerne vil tage en lille vandretur i Viborg vestby – i naturskønt område, så kan en rundtur mellem mine 4 caches ”Ulriksdals Park”, ”Grøn oase v/Himmerlandsstien”, ”Himmerlandssti på afveje”, ’Margrethelund trinbræt’ og retur til ’Ulriksdals Park’ anbefales. En tur på knap 6 km.

Margrethelund step board
The step board Margrethelund can be found on ‘Himmerlandsstien’.
‘Himmerlandsstien’ is located on the former ‘Himmerlandsbaner’, which consisted of the Hobro-Aalestrup-Aars-Løgstør line and the Viborg-Aalestrup line, both of which were inaugurated in 1893. Several stations and step boards were established on the section between Viborg and Aalestrup. The step board Margrethelund was established in 1929 and closed in 1955 - four years before passenger traffic ceased on the Himmerland line.
Passenger traffic was stopped on the Viborg-Aalestrup section in 1959, and on the Hobro-Løgstør section in 1966, but freight traffic continued until 1999.
In 2004-2005, the track between Viborg and Løgstør was taken up, and the municipalities / counties agreed to build a bicycle and footpath on the entire stretch from Viborg to Løgstør: ‘Himmerlandsstien’. At the end of 2013, the last 2 km of the track was taken up, so that ‘Himmerlandsstien’ could be extended all the way to Viborg Station.
Information boards have been placed on ‘Himmerlandsstien’ - in the places where there was previously a step board or station.
If you want a long hike, Himmerlandsstien is 79 km long from Viborg to Løgstør, but you can also settle for less. If you want to take a little walk in Viborg west town - in scenic area, then a round trip between my 4 caches “Ulriksdals Park”, “Green oasis by Himmerlandsstien”, “Himmerlandssti astray”, “Margrethelund step board” and return to “Ulriksdals Park” is recommended. A trip of almost 6 km.
