We are part of the "Pandemic Puppy" adoptions. We were wanting to adopt a rescue pup as it was, and ended up adopting from a rescue in Aruba in April 2020. Our journey was long, yet worth it once Milo's 4 paws landed on Canadian soil in August 2020! There is actually a geocaching twist to Milo's arrival...Our family was out of province at the time when we got literally last minute news that Milo had been booked on the last flight before flghts being suspended between Canada & the Caribbean. A last minute flight transporter agreed to escort Milo to Toronto.
We ourselves were tirelessy posting on various scoial media accounts, one specifically for Milo, putting it out there that if in Aruba & flying to Toronto on the last flight to consider escorting a pup to his furever home. Luck came at literally the 11th hour. We were excited, yet we were out of province 1500+ kms away. Leaving the next morning still would have us unable to meet Milo at the airport, something we were so looking forward to. Remembering a certain cacher doing amazing work around the world for doggos coming to Canada I reached out to DougyB & Karin, who were gracious to pickup Milo, foster him for the night, and bring him to us the following day. We are forever thankful to Doug & Karin, playing a very important part of welcoming Milo to Canada and getting him home to us. We look forward to hopefully meeting for a pup play date with their geopups!
This is where we bring Milo to run & play, and boy is he super fast. He outruns any of the dogs there, and we have been asked at least 50+ times if he is part Whippet, or Greyhound LOL. It always sparks a conversation about how it is very possible, and that he is an Aruban Cunucu (Island dog), or super mutt, but it could totally be in his heritage.
