Kino vakars? What a strange name for an event! Read on for the important info (please do really read the full description if you are planning to attend).
It stands for "Cinema night" in Latvian. GZ will point you to the Latvian Community Hall in Christchurch. Every now and then we are organising various events here, some of them - movie nights, as this time. But this time I have decided to share it with the geocaching community too.
So the most important thing to consider if you want to come is the timing. Those of you who want to come and see a Latvian movie (with English subtitles) - we will start the movie at 7pm. You might have noticed that the time of this event is set to 6pm-7pm. I did that to allow for people who don't want to see the movie or can't commit to stay for the lenght of it, to have a time to come along, say hi, sign the logbook and then go on their own important businesses before the screening.
I've set the end time for 7pm, as I don't want people to keep showing up during the screening. But if you are staying for the movie, the actual endtime will be around 9pm-ish, give or take.
As for the movie itself, I will have a couple of options ready and we will choose before the screening on what everyone is keen on.
I will update via an announcement if these options change but they will most likely be:
If you do decide to stay for the movie, please consider a gold coin donation to Latvian House for the expenses (no pressure).
P.S. I'd advise to park on the street if you are OK with walking a few more steps to the entrance. If you do have trouble walking, there is also limited space option to park in the yard.
P.P.S. Bring your own snacks, drinks or even your own dinner if you wish! There are no cooking facilities but there is a microwave if you want something heated up and there is a kettle so a hot cuppa is possible!
