The Pembina Trail is an historic wagon trail that was a primary route to Winnipeg for settlers and traders. After crossing the Red Lake River at Old Crossing Park, settlers would travel the ridges along the Red River Valley north to Pembina, and eventually to Winnipeg. The cache is located on public land in a "no shooting" area identified by orange signs. It is a short, easy walk into the woods, but it is best to approach the cache directly from the west.
The cache is a 30cal ammo can. The previous container was destroyed during a prescribed burn on 5/17/14. This was our first cache, and we wanted to make it easy to encourage other cacher's in our area. After being active for 20+ years we just have to keep this one going!
