Geocache Description:

Welcome to One Tree Bridge located on the Donnelly River about 20kms outside of Manjimup. Despite the name of the bridge the current bridge across the river is not made of one tree however the bridge receives its name from the first bridge that crossed the river, which can still be seen on display near the bridge, was made of just one karri tree with a bridge attached to the tree. The first bridge was constructed in 1904 when a large karri tree was felled across the river to provide the basis of the bridge with the rest of the bridge being constructed on top of it. Prior to the construction of this bridge the only way across the river was a rocky ford about 500m down stream at glenoran pool. The bridge eventually disintegrated and fell into the river and was salvaged and laid to rest.

Please bring your own pen as the cache does not have one provided.
