Geocache Description:

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ADD TO THIS SERIES, PLEASE CONTACT THE SERIES OWNER (SEE BELOW)

We are often told (correctly, if somewhat ideologically), that geocaches should take us to somewhere "interesting", and not simply be placed just for the sake of it. The aim of this series is to try and adhere to this ideal by basing caches around details given on an Interpretation Board about the area in which it is situated. By definition, it is hoped that this information will be "interesting", and will help the cacher discover things about the area that would often not be revealed by a traditional cache.

ABOUT THIS FYI CACHE

When the nearby housing development was built, before building work started, archaeologists discovered information about our ancestors, which is now displayed in this information board.

To find the cache you will need to read the information board and answer the folowing questions:

a) Black burnished ware was found. A = number of letters in the county this came from +1

b) B= number of Roman grain driers found -1

c) C= The youngest burial was buried with what type of boots?  C=number of letters in the type.

d) What was his likely age? D= sum oif digits of oldest estimate.

e) E= number of sherds of samian found less number of large quarry pits found

f) F= The earliest date listed AD F00

The cache is at N 52 02.ABC W001 58.DEF

This is a bison tube hidden at the edge of the village.

Congratulations to the Sundownder for the FTF, dadu 13 on STF and fester1960 for the TTTF..

I hope that you find this an interesting variation on the caching experience. For a full list of all FYI caches in the series, please go to https://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?code=BM4RZ8H
