As you travel the Mitchel Highway between Charleville and Cunnamulla, you will notice the unused railway line. Services were suspended in 2011, but the "nail in the coffin" was when the Angellala Creek Bridge on the Mitchell Highway south of Charleville was destroyed when a road train exploded in 2014. The explosion was so severe that one of the railway bridge spans was thrown 20 meters through the air. The government opted not to repair the bridge, effectively closing the line forever.
Along the route, still some ten years later, the infrastructure is mostly still here. So we placed a cache at one of the numerous mail and safeworking stops along the way between Charleville and Cunnamulla.
Wander over to the old tine shed alongside the tracks and start your search. It;s up and under.
