This cache is placed in conjunction with the Smiths Falls Great ReOpening event on August 8, 2021.
This is an interesting little spot. Though the rail line is no longer active, this little section attached to the Rail Museum does still see some action. The Museum has a diesel locomotive that they use to move cars around and sometimes even give rides. The switch you can see from here was the location of a Golden Spike ceremony a few years back, that I was lucky enough to attend. It was a ceremonial "last spike" to commemorate the opening of the switch at the museum track.
