Geocache Description:

"A magical place for local and visiting children to play. Funded by the people for the people." Our local playground was dreamt up by a group of locals and then after a lot of organizing and hard work, it became a reality in 2008. It continues to be maintained by community members and every name you see on the structures and the fence pickets are contributors to the park. Enjoy the place, bring your kids, your grandkids, or your inner kid. Help keep the park beautiful by packing out not just your own trash, but any random trash you may find.

Congratulations to Georedheads 1 and 2 for the FTF!

Yes, this was a local "off-line" geocache that I had cleaned up in July of 2021, so there were some entries and illustrations by the local kids that had found it floating around.  But I just got it on-line recently, as I taught a class at the library so the kids could introduce their parents to real, no-joke, on-line treasure hunting. :-)

I've had off and on luck with the bigger containers getting found by Muggles and either moving around or disappearing.  As of June 2025, the container is no longer a cool vintage ammo box but hopefully it blends in with the environment better...

The new location may be accessible in winter, depending on how much snow we get and how prepared you are to slog and dig a bit.  No guarantees!
