The Tawny Emperor overwinters as a mature caterpillar and prefers forests with Hackberry trees. Please be respectful of campground sites and make use of designated trails. There are many exploring muggles during the camping season. Conservation Authority Personnel remind us that there is a small entry fee into the Conservation Area. When the attendant isn't present, there is a self-service drop box by the gate house. Please remember that off trail hiking is discouraged as it negatively impacts the environment. The area is well populated with animals, so please leave no food and re-hide the cache before leaving. When camping season is finished, (mid October to end of April) the entrance gate will be closed. There is a small parking area just outside the gates.
