I've seen the Patterson Mine on the NYNJTC maps and I was curious about it for a while. It is an interesting area and the 2 mine pits are cool. The hike to the spot is quite an uphill walk on a woods road and then more uphill to where you will make a left to get to the mines. When you see a test pit on the right and some pilings, you will walk left and see the first pit. Then you will continue and see the 2nd pit. When you walk to the left, you will see an interesting rock formation and the cache is on top of it. You might get a smile when you see that the contents of the cache match the title. One thing I included is post it notes from a Students of Life group. Feel free to write what you learned as a student of life. I started and wrote "read the logs before I geocache." Update: Unfortunately, the cache was completely destroyed by the fire but I place a new one.
