We noticed there are no caches in Butte. What a bummer. So we decided to put up a virtual and see if that stimulates cache growth in the area.
Go to the coordinates at the top of the page. You can park near N46 00.668 W112 31.080. Email the answers to the following three questions to us to prove you were there. There is a $6 per-person fee to enter the viewing area, but you can get the correct answers without paying the fee and going to the viewing stand. Note: this place is open everyday from April to October with the gates being locked around 9pm. For up to the date information please call: 1-800-735-6814. The gate will be closed anytime there is fresh snow as they don't have anyone to shovel the area.
Looking at the tunnel entrance from the parking lot there is a sign above the entrance, or use the feet/meters sign to the right and send its information if the top sign is too hard to read:
1. What is the name of this place?
2. What is the first 4-digit date/number on the Left side of the sign?
3. What is the second 4-digit date/number on the right side of the sign?
4. Describe the weather conditions and, if you go into the viewing stand, the water color.
Coordinates were checked multiple times approaching from different directions with 6 satellites locked and an error radius of 25ft.
NOTE: Make sure to email the answers, as online "Found It" logs without a corresponding correct email will be deleted. We hold the right to investigate all loggers for potential attempts to abuse this cache virtually. This is not an Armchair Virtual and we require a physical visit by all finders or their log may be deleted. Please understand, abuse of this virtual by virtual loggers- even with the correct information- will not be accepted.
