Geocache Description:

This cemetery is sometimes called Yordy after the Yordy family who settled here about 1866, according to family tradition.  A Yordy Post Office was established nearby in 1875. The cemetery is also called Mulberry because of its location in the beautiful Mulberry valley near Mulberry Creek and is now Mulberry Township, althought that entity was not formed until October 1, 1906.  Prairie Mound Cemetery was given that name by the couple who homesteaded this properety, Reverend George Wilson Miller and his wife, Mary  (Colerider) Miller. That is the official name it carries in the land records found at the Register of Deeds Office in Ellsworth.  Remember this is a cemetery and please observe any/all rules/regulations that may be posted.
