Hi everyone and welcome to Indigobirdie's Treasure hunt.
Background: This Treasure hunt is dedicated to Indigobirdie's return back to Ireland in the Summer of 2021. That meant I had alot of time to myself so I decided to create a treasure hunt in preperation for her return in August. With her permission I have opened the treasure hunt a little bit early for any FTF seekers. This treasure hunt will bring you around most of Roscommon town and bring you to its main attractions. The treasure hunt has not been completed (yet) and the geocaches can be collected in any order. Also the ordering may not be the quickest way to collect all geocaches.
Geocache: Officially this is the sixth geocache in the hunt. It is placed infront of Roscommon Castle in Loughnaneane Park. I reccommend to read the informative sign by Roscommon Tidy Towns at the entrance of Roscommon Castle. It includes the history of the castle, history of Loughnaneane and the re-imagined drawings of the castle during 1307 and 1584 and its features in detail.
There is also the lovely sculpture trail you can follow throughout the park!
