This is the first of what will hopefully grow into a series of local caches placed at current locations taken from old photos, to show how things have changed, or maybe even stayed the same!

Taken in April 1978, this image shows Manor Road Garage on the right, with Burnbake Road turning off opposite on the left. The garage has since been replaced by flats - Foxes Court, and the junction expanded into a roundabout following the construction of Penine Way, which now leads to Morrisons. The telephone box was removed, and replaced by a more modern version a bit further along, at the junction of Newtown Lane, and was removed altogether sometime in the 2010s. The garage was a Renault dealership, and in the 1930s may have been Verwood's first travel agent, offering tours of England, Scotland, Wales and the continent.
This is an offset multi and the final cache is a short walk away. There is plenty of parking at the nearby Morrisons, or on Springfield Road, but please be mindful of local residents. These can be busy roads, please take care.
