The area of Chapelizod, Dublin 20 share the post code with Palmerstown and The Strawberry Beds. Home to the winding River Liffey - in fact some residents at 'The Island' apartments enjoy the Liffey flowing on both sides of their small plot of land.
This public Green area known at St. Laurence Grove, is managed by local volunteers and residents. Note: the lovely flowers maintained by Jim, and Grass occasionally cut by Gareth. The Fairy garden in this area is also a highlight for little ones.
During sunshine you'll encounter the local kids playing (sometimes football - haha - note the 'No Football' sign)
Occasionally a seal swims this far up river, to dissapoint local fisherman as he chomps away on the locally caught fish.
The area serves as a joggers paradise with a link between Phoenix Park to Memorial Gardens by river path. The river path is easily found heading East along the road.
Parking is available everywhere. Access on foot. Worth a walk and look around.
