We are 5 cousins (2 from Michigan) who love geocaching and decided to make a geocache together this summer. The cache is placed in the parking lot of the Canterbury Woods Pool with permission. The cache is not within the gates of the pool (which is available to members only) and is able to be accessed 24/7 from the street, however the gates of the parking lot may be closed to vehicle traffic after hours of the pool. Street parking is available.
The pool is a neighborhood run organization that hosts many funraisers and events for the community and local swim team. It provides a safe space for neighborhood children to hang out during the summer and can be a very popular hang out spot due to its proximity to tennis courts and walking trails. For this reason, stealth may be required - depending on the time of day and season.
The walking trails behind the pool are part of Canterbury Woods that are owned by Fairfax County and are open to the public for walking and hiking. An entrance to the trails is located near the cache as well.
