2 part field puzzle with plenty of places to park at both stages. All parking is free.
Stage 1 is at the posted coordinates and will provide simple instructions and all the information you will need to locate the final.
Stage 2 parking coordinates will put you right next to the entrance to the Chelsea District Library Building. There are many parking areas around, but the entrance you will use is on the east side of the building.
Cache is hidden in the library, with the full knowledge of the staff. Please be respectful on your visit and enjoy walking around this most incredible and historic building.
The final stage of this cache is not available at all times, Library hours change occasionally,but current hours are:
Mon–Thurs: 9am–8pm
Fri: 10am–6pm
Sat: 10am–3pm
Sun: 1–5pm
When you enter the library please be respectful that it is a library. The staff are aware and supportive of the cache. It's ok to talk to them about it. They have been very accommodating in this placement, a VERY special thanks to all of them.
Once you find it the final stage, please sign the log book, Be as creative as you like. Pictures are ALWAYS APPRECIATED, we love seeing you all!! (please don't include the dewey number in any photos). In your log, if you had fun and any interactions with the amazing CDL staff please include that in your log as they will be watching the posts.
The Changing Role of the Public Library
Long gone are the days when the municipal library was but a quiet and stuffy book depository used almost exclusively by those of advanced age and avoided by youth. Today’s library is a lively and welcoming gathering space, with ever-increasing use by people from all walks of life.
People gather at the library for a multitude of reasons. Yes, the library maintains an accessible and expansive inventory of printed material, but it also offers numerous programs and services that play an important role in the fabric of our evolving community.
In today’s digital era, it is all but impossible to keep pace with society without access to information technology resources. Contrasting popular belief, there are still many families who cannot afford a computer and/or internet access fees. The library provides generous access to the latest in computer programs and internet access. Such contact with digital media provides not only a social outlet, but also offers people the opportunity to search for employment, build resumes, access government databases and services, and network with prospective employers. Uncertain economic times highlight the library’s function as a connection to the world-at-large.
Continuing education is vital for both personal and professional well-being. Often dubbed the “free university,” libraries offer programs spanning many interests and needs. Anything from health to history is covered through the programs offered at Chelsea District Library. With respected experts leading our programs, participants are confident knowing that in spite of these services being free, they are learning at the same quality level as those who choose to pay for similar offerings elsewhere.
