This cache is located in the New Edinburg Commerial Historic District on the site of the Stewart Cash Store which served as a general mercantile until the mid 1970's. It is composed of two buildings of which the oldest part was orginally a post office constructed prior to 1934 as Ms. Stewart was the postmaster from 1914-1934. Upon her retirment in 1934, the post office building was moved to the rear of the property on logs and a new building plus a car canopy added to the front of the structure. The old barn located on the property was used for storing supplies plus an occasional pig, calf or chicken traded for merchandise. While the store and barn are on private property, the owners have given permmission for the cache to be placed on the property.
