Geocache Description:

This is a puzzle cache so can not be found at the posted location.

A puzzle must be solved to find the final location.

This cache is so named because the position is a cheat, it's a black heart being painted white, it adds to the GeoArt Heart around Epping but this location is not a suitable place to position a cache as it is too near the entrance to the secondary school and various sporting clubs, so the GeoArt is being augmented by a puzzle cache.

The name Epping means upland dwellers and the original Saxon settlement of Epping was what is now the village of Epping Upland to the north of the current town of Epping, as can be seen by some of the church details. The town of Epping developed in the Middle Ages as Townside at Epping Heath, later called Epping Street (Strete), still within the ancient parish of Epping. When Harlow was built in the 1950s, it bordered Epping Urban District with the, at the time, substantially more populated centres of Epping and Theydon Bois.

In the 18th and early 19th centuries Epping was a busy staging town on the way to Cambridge and beyond, as evidenced by the many coaching inns on the High Street, some of which are still evident today. On one of Pepys' journeys to Newmarket he mentions the roads of Epping as being particularly challenging in his diaries, and when it is suggested that the route he travelled was Stewards Green Lane (on the Essex Way) those animadversions are unsurprising.

The coach traffic ended with the advent of the railways but revived with a branch of the Eastern railway, now the tube line, in 1865.

After seeking out a jazzy little number or two, the final location can be found as follows:

N (The Four Sleepers)(Pointing at the Moon) (Regrets)(More Pointing) . 0(Hearts and Numbers)(Pools)'

E 000 0(Human Bites). (More Pointing)(Pointing at the Moon)(Act Natural + More Pointing)'
