TNPB = The Neverland Pirate Band
The second of a series I've recently begun, as I drive along and have the old music player on shuffle. I listen to a huge variety of stuff, from literally anywhere. When I see a spot that calls out to me, needing a cache, I'll place one with a note about what's playing at the time. So as you follow my track you'll get to discover some of the music that I have, over the years, discovered by various means.
Today's cache was while out with the kids, on a long straight road that somehow didn't have a cache. So now there is one!
The Neverland Pirate Band: This is a real/not-quite-real band. It's the band that does the soundtrack for the Disney Junior animated series, Jake & The Neverland Pirates, which takes place in the Peter Pan universe. The two musicians that perform these songs are Kevin Hendrickson and Loren Hoskins, who play the characters Sharkey and Bones. Musically, the Neverland Pirate Band is a full Pirate Rock band, with everything from guitars, bass, drums and organ to ukelele, banjo, xylophone and more!
The background of the two musicians that play Sharkey and Bones is even more surprising however! Hendrickson and Hoskins were the two main players in another Pirate Rock band: Seattle's Captain Bogg & Salty! So their pirate rock credentials were very solid long before they ever joined the Disney Junior ranks, and that makes the Neverland Pirate Band all the more interesting to listen to!
Also, this cache was placed with my young son, who also decided that we just HAD to hide a cache today because we had found one earlier. And this is what happened to be playing on the old iPod. Voilà! Recipe for a cache!
