Geocache Description:

Our Pittman Family Reunion has been held yearly at Boiling Springs State Park since WWII!  That is until 2020 - the COVID year.  Lore has it that on our Matriarch's (Huldah Goodwin Pittman) death bed, she asked her 7 sons (Tom, Vine, Frank, William, Bert, Amos & Amcy) and 2 daughters (Eda Bell & Blanche) to meet once a year to keep her family close.  Our Patriarch, Henry Pittman, made his way to May OK from KS after serving in a Union regiment from KS during the Civil War.  He started 5 different Christian churches in what was Indian Territory that became OK.  His sister Denie Pittman also came to IT/OK and married Silas Harrison.

This geocache was placed at our 2021 Reunion by a group of about 10 kids who picked the container, the swag and the location.  They would LOVE to see a picture of your geocaching crew!

There are tradables.  Leave one if you take one.  Also bring your own pen/pencil.

Placed with permission of Boiling Springs State Park.
