The Little Para River rises just below Mount Gawler at an elevation of 284m. It runs from its source near Lower Hermitage in the Mount Lofty Ranges, flows north westerly to the Little Para Reservoir and then westerly to the Barker Inlet via Swan Creek and into Gulf St Vincent at Globe Derby Park. The Little Para River drops around 279m over its 28.5km length.
