St. Berres Church
The Earliest evidence of this Church was in 1291. Although it Possibly has Medeval Origins. Now Georgian & Victorian.
Alterations were done in the 17th Centuary as there is a 1650 date Stone. Some of this Building was designed by Chester Architect, Joseph Turner in 1774. Later another Chester Architect Thomas Jones added the South & West Towers & possibly Two Galleries around 1891-1892. A lot of Internal Restoration was done by Architect John Douglas which included removing said Galleries, Striping Plaster & a new Screen Glass was removed from East Window which was then Installed into the West end Windows. The Exterior was built from local Limestone with Slate Ridge Tiles. It is now a Grade 2, Listed Building. The Building has a Nave & Chancell in the West Tower & a Porch Near the N W Angle of the Nave. The Tower has 3 Stages. The Lower on West Wall is the Doorway with 2 Light Windows. The 2nd has a window on each face & the 3rd stage has an Octagnal Weather Vane. It is Classed as English Gothic Style. It is in the Parish of Mold Diocese. The Parish Church of SS Mael & Sulien Cwn. Dedication: Brice of Tours.
It is an Anglican Church, Situated Half way bwtween Mold & Ruthin & open most days for anyone to visit.
