Descrizione: con questo cache, i Fr3aks vi condurranno al Canopée des cîmes (che Google traduce con "Baldacchino delle vette", ecco il perchè del nome del cache). Si tratta di una piattaforma sospesa nel vuoto che può ospitare dalle quindici alle venti persone contemporaneamente. Ci si affaccia direttamente sul lago del Moncenisio e si ha un panorama di 180° su tutte le cime che lo circondano (le principali indicate sulla balaustra).

Il cache: si tratta di un petling magnetico. I Fr3aks chiedono ai geocacheurs di prestare la massima attenzione nel recuperare il cache, in maniera tale da non farlo cadere e di riposizionarlo nella stessa identica location. Il nascondiglio, infatti, è stato studiato in maniera tale da nascondere agli occhi dei babbani il cache stesso. Se non si è sicuri di riuscire a metterlo al proprio posto, piuttosto fate un foto, inviatela ai Fr3aks (via mail o via messaggio) e vi verrà validato come fotolog. Grazie..
Il percorso: ci sono due approcci per arrivare al cache.
- Il primo è "parto a cannone e sputo un polmone" (ovviamente è l'approccio utilizzato dai Fr3aks): Si parcheggia al Parking 1, si prende la strada sterrata dall'altra parte rispetto alla D1006 e al Trailhead 1 si tira su dritto per i prati, senza alcun sentiero, totalmente in libertà. E' semplice: salire dritti, fino a raggiungere la stazione dello skilift. A questo punto, prendere in direzione reference point Bivio e continuare per le strade di servizio delle varie stazioni.
- Il secondo è "chi va' piano, va' sano e lontano". Si parcheggia presso il Parking 2 si sale partendo dal Trailhead 2, salendo in maniera sicuramente più dolce lungo le strade di servizio dei vari impianti sciistici, anche se si percorrono più km. Una volta arrivati al reference point Bivio, si prosegue come per il punto 1.
A questo cache si può unire quello dell'Ouillon des Arcellins. Se la tentazione è passare prima da quest'ultimo, i Fr3aks consigliano di fare il giro orario, cercando prima la Canopee e poi l'Ouillon, poichè in questa maniera si sale in maniera più dolce. In senso antiorario, dal reference point si sale in maniera molto secca. Il cache è raggiungibile anche in fuoristrada, ma in questo caso la difficoltà del terreno scende a 1,5.
- Tempo di percorrenza per salire: tra 1.30 e le 2 ore
- Dislivello positivo: circa 700 m
- Lunghezza totale anello: circa 11 km
Il quando: il cache è raggiungibile d'estate. La location è altresì raggiungibile in inverno, ma solo da Lanslebourg e solo tramite sci. Non è detto però che, in questo caso, il nascondiglio del cache sia disponibile a causa dell'altezza della neve. Fate sempre attenzione alle condizioni meteo. The Path: there are two approaches to getting to the cache.
- The first is "spit a lung" (obviously this is the approach used by the Fr3aks): you park at Parking 1, take the dirt road on the other side of the D1006 and at Trailhead 1 you go straight to the meadows, without any path, totally free. It's simple: go straight up until you reach the skilift station. At this point, take the Bivio reference point in the direction and continue along the service roads of the various stations.
- The second is "whoever goes slowly, goes healthy and far". You park at Parking 2 and go up starting from Trailhead 2, going up in a certainly gentler way along the service roads of the various ski resorts, even if you travel more kilometers. Once you arrive at the Bivio reference point, continue as per point 1.
To this cache can be added the Ouillon des Arcellins. If the temptation is to go through the latter first, the Fr3aks recommend going around the clock, looking first for the Canopee and then the Ouillon, as in this way you climb more gently. Counterclockwise, from the reference point you go up very sharply. The cache can also be reached off-road, but in this case the terrain difficulty drops to 1.5.
