Join me and Jimmy on the lake while we try to describe the "Colour of the Sun". We'll meet at the coordinates at 7:15 pm. Sunset is around 8:00 pm. I will head for shore at 7:45 pm. We can share some stories of the summer and plans for the fall.
You will definitely need a boat to get there and for that you will definitely need a permit from the Johnson County Parks Department. Daily or Annual permits can be purchased HERE or by calling (913) 438-7275. They will email a receipt which can be used as a temporary permit until the permanent permit arrives. I suggest choosing the annual permit option. You may have reason to want to be on the lake multiple times before the end of the year.
You will probably want a flashlight, or better yet, a handlamp, since your hands will likely be busy with the paddles. You may also want a jacket. Weather can be unpredictable this time of the year.
Presence at the posted coordinates during the time of the event will be required to log attendance.
