The Cross Townland Boundary Stone!
The small town of Rathfriland is divided into four townlands: Cross, being the southernmost one. The other three are, Kiltarriff, Rossconor and Lissize. In all Ireland has well over 60,000 townlands. Many of these are further divided into subivisions. Rural dwellers on both sides of the Border take pride in their particular townland.
As you go down Castlewellan Road you are in the Townland of Cavan and Drumnascamp.
