Geocache Description:

Which Leaf?

The expression "fig leaf" is widely used figuratively to convey the covering up of an act or an object that is embarrassing or distasteful with something of innocuous appearance, a metaphorical reference to the Biblical Book of Genesis in which Adam and Eve used fig leaves to cover their nudity after eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Some paintings and statues have the genitals of their subjects covered by a representation of an actual fig leaf or similar object, either as part of the work or added afterward for perceived modesty.

Welcome to the Middletown OHIO New Discoveries GeoTour

We are excited for you to discover all of the things we love about our All-American City! The New Discoveries GeoTour has 25 caches to find, all located in publicly accessible areas.

Cache Background

A peek behind the leaf...

Thousands of years ago the Buddha sat under The Bodhi Tree seeking enlightenment. What many people don't realize is that The Bodhi Tree was a very large and sacred fig tree. In keeping with the spirit of The Bodhi Tree, we seek to bring enlightenment to those that wish to immerse themselves into the world of craft beer.
