This cache is in a clear plastic jug with a screw top lid. The original contents are a photo snow globe, silly straws, hair scrunchie, army men, flute, mini chip clip, and Karma Chamelion, the blue lizard of happiness travel bug. We originally chose this location for its scenic value. The view is really quite beautiful from here. Read on to see what else can be found here.
In addition to this cache, you can also find an unlisted cache at this location. We happened on it quite by accident. It is in a pint size mason jar and contains only a pencil and paper with a handful of names and dates on it. According to the paper inside, it was placed in this location in May of 2000. Apparently one of the very first geocaches placed.
Also in this same area, are two benchmarks from 1958. And, if you’re a rock hound, you’ll find some excellent good sized specimens here of several different kinds of beautiful rocks.
Also, on your way here, you’ll drive right past the Thunderstruck cache at N35 51.046 W106 51.440, so you might as well stop for that one, too. The road from this point on gets a little rugged. A two wheel drive vehicle can make it in good weather if it has fairly high clearance. Four wheel drive makes it much easier.
