Saskatchewan, the middle of the Prairie Provinces, is of course land-locked; however it makes up for that somewhat by the fact that 10% of its total mass is made up of fresh water, including the magnificant Saskatchewan river, and 100,000 lakes! We did visit there once long ago, to check out the University (truly beautiful campus), and explore some of the Province where Mr CC"s father was born. Its main sourses of income are farming, mining and energy. Being land-locked and so deep in the Continent gives Saskatchewan the dubious pleasures of extremely hot Summers and extremely cold Winters, so some years farming can be very challenging, but being so flat makes large scale wheat farming possible, and Mr CC's grandfather was involved in the development of the ever-popular Durham Wheat.
