Geocache Description:

This series of 10 caches has been set up around an area local to where I live. The route if completed as a whole takes you on muddy footpaths, along residential roads and into a few small copses which have been recently developed as a result of all the new houses being built. The whole route in numerical order is around 3km, although some of the route is still being developed at the time of setting, so the route could be longer if some of the footpaths are not in use.

At the time of setting the caches, the 10 caches in this loop all have different cache containers. The loop can be completed in smaller sections or a few work well as “dash and cache”s.

This route links Piglittle Field with Pope’s Meadow in Binfield through the new housing estates Amen Corner and Popeswood Grange. The area will develop over time but at the time of setting the caches in August 2021, Kings Academy, Oakwood has been open for Primary pupils since September 2019. There are a number of housing developments in progress and many of the properties on the site are already being lived in. Some of the roads on these estates have been created without pavements so please take care with young children and dogs.

One review of the area suggests:

“Piglittle is a circular 3km walk running alongside the new Keephatch Meadows development. The footpaths are surfaced so its fine for buggys and bikes.

On a clear day, from the top of the field you can see all the way to the Chiltern Hills.

If you are looking for a slightly longer walk then you can leave Piglittle Field and head towards Popes Meadow, this can be muddy so this part of the route isn't buggy friendly.”

The location of the caches have been chosen to create a loop walk at the time of setting but also to consider some of this on-going development in the area, the hope will be that the locations don’t need to be amended over time.

All caches will need you to bring a pen, and some will need tweezers. Enjoy!

Cache #1

This cache is a disguised micro. You will need tweezers for this cache.

This is in a new location, so the route is slight confusing at the begining!

To continue to number 2 you can access this directly by road, go back past the car park and use Ellwood Fields, Duncan Road and Muir Gate or along the new footpaths and parks in a longer loop route around the outside of the housing estate to the north.
