This should be a very quick and easy find...except for the last couple of feet.The Iowa DOT purchased this land to make way for a new and improved US Highway 30. Several homes here were moved or destroyed recently to prepare the site and then the economy turned sour, the budget was cut, and this piece of property got a 5-10 year (?) reprieve from the earth movers. Eventually this cache location will be part of eastbound US 30!
Right now the nearest road is only about 40-feet south of the cache and there's even room for one or two vehicles to pull off the street and park at N41 58.915 W92 34.726.
Even though there's no highway here the area can be rather busy at times so be as discrete as you can. Even the stealthiest will probably be watched...by me! Park off the side street (runs east-west). Don't park on Broadway!
This is the first cache (an ammo box) I've placed with a disposable camera inside (along with a number of small household items). Be sure to snap your picture when you log in. You may need a stiff stick or pole...about 3-4' long. Try pushing south-to-north to dislodge the cache and replace the cache from the north. Please replace the cache just as you found it or as close as possible to this position.
