While checking on a nearby cache-hide of mine, decided to place SOMETHING on this METAL BRIDGE. Had always wanted to place a cache here, and finally had a container with me. There used to be a cache placed at this spot once upon a time ago, but it was archived.
Anyway, for those person(s) interested in BENCH MARKS, there is a bench mark close by:
N 38* 52.291 W 097* 11.657
As for the cache, not too sure what I placed for had the sun in my eyes, or other such dribble. IF you are curious as to what is placed here, go check for yourself. Coordinates should place you, the wiley geocacher that you think you are, center mass of the eastern end of bridge where the hard-top meets the gravel. Geocache is placed somewhere between the far end of the concrete abutments to the east and center of bridge. May be a P&G for some, maybe not for others.
Probably easiest route to this cache is to travel north/south on KS HWY 15 south of the town of Abilene, KS. When arriving at the intersection with 1900 Avenue, turn east and travel until you encounter the metal bridge, should be the only one found. 1900 Ave is a busy gravel road, so decided to raise the D/T ratings just a bit for safety reasons and the justification for the "skull & crossbones" icon, so all those D/T "experts" - have a nice day!
