Geocache Description:

A simple offset multicache located in Letcombe.

During ww2 many American troops were sent to the UK for the liberation of occuppied Europe. In some cases they left traces of their passage ,just like here in Letcombe Regis where some of them carved their names on the brickwork of this old stable. Some local say that some of the houses nearby were used as accomodation for US troops during the war.

I sent pictures of these names to a friend who does research on Amercican troops. He has informed me that there isn't enough detail to find the exact soldiers. At least 5 people with one of the names and surname from that town enlisted in the US army during ww2!
