Geocache Description:

Above the quiet and serene shores of an old basin, the Dingo keeps company with an ancient juniper tree awaiting your arrival...

But of course, you have to find Bad Dog first! This cache was formerly listed as "Tin Puppy" but had to relocate because of coming snowfall in the Cascades. He still required a great view and lots of open space. You can approach him from several directions, Hiway 20, China Hat and Gosney Rd are all possiblilities. I believe heading in from the east has the fewest gates to pass through on the BLM. There are helpful maps of the area at N 43.58.628 W 121.06.209, (and you can visit "Pooch's Prize" by Mad Jack while you're near there); Another map box is located at N 43.52.512 / W 121.03.957 if you happen to come in from the Millican Valley. Either way, the closest parking to Bad Dog is at N 43.54.228 / W 121.08.188. From there, track Bad Dog down at the published coordinates at the top of the page. Poke him in the belly and force him to reveal Dingo's location. This cache is dedicated to our K9 buds, so bring a puppy treat and take a goody for your pal - there is some great canine paraphenalia in this ammo box. Hopefully, the caches will be able to be found even with normal desert snow on the ground. Driving condition is dirt. (smooth and level, although a bit narrow and rustic). Mountain bikes would be a blast.
