The Old Cricket Pitch
This cache is located near the old cricket ground that was used by Sharnford Cricket Club for many years until recently disbanded. All that is left is the old building that was used as the scoreboard The old pavillion was demolished in 2019 after it had been badly vandalised. In early times there was a women's and men's team. They used to play each other in an annual game. The ground is en route from Sharnford village on a public footpath to the popular Fosse Meadows Country Park. This cache is our first and has been set by Nic as part of his Scouts Geocaching badge.
