 Ezers izveidojies karsta piltuvveida iegruvē virs ģipša slāņiem. Vietējie teic, ka šajā ezerā nevajag peldēties. Ezers ir dūņains un dibens reizēm pazūd. Literatūrā minēts, ka ezera dibens atrodams 12 metru dziļumā, bet pārbaudīts tas nav, platība 0,4 ha.                                                           

 Kādā teikā minēts, ka ezerā noslīkusi jauna, skaista meitene, kura laikā, kad virs ezera paceļas migla, izkāpj no ūdens un ķemmē savus krāšņos matus. Tur, kur izkrīt kāds viņas mats, uzziedot ūdensroze.

 Slēpnis ir plastmasas konteinerītis ar skrūvējamo vāku, sākotnēji iekšā atrodas zīmulis, asināmais, logbooks un daži sīkumiņi apmaiņai.
