Let's Clean Up Ship Creek
Ship Creek is a favorite local fishing and shorebird viewing spot near downtown in the industrial area of the Port of Anchorage. The summer offers salmon fishing opportunities for locals and tourists alike. This part of Ship Creek is busy in the summer with fishing derbies and local eateries nearby. If you are not fishing it is a fun spot to watch folks fishing or just spot the fish migrating up to the spawning grounds.
This area needs a little CITO love. It has been a busy summer here.
We will meet in front of the restrooms by the bridge and spend 1 hour picking up trash. At 7pm we will meet back at base camp and have some refreshments and some snacks. There will be a drawing for valuable prizes.
Please wear a mask if you feel more comfortable and remember to social distance.
We will provide bottled water and individually wrapped snacks.
